Playback and effects

In the top bar, there are a few controls for playback including the usual play/pause, jump to beginning/end, loop, volume, master tuning and playback speed override. Play around with the values to see how they work. Additional controls such as reverb can be found in the Playback panel .

Master tuning

Adjust the master tuning. For example, for Baroque pitch, you could set the master tuning to 415Hz or any other values suitable for your composition.

Master tuning is not available when Salamander Grand Piano is included, nor does it affect external virtual instruments connected via the MIDI interface.

If you had made any adjustments, double click the field to reset it to 440Hz.

Playback speed override

Playback speed override does not affect the actual duration of the piece; it simply plays the piece faster/slower to aid your composition process. Double click on the field to reset it.

Looping

You can turn on the looping feature by clicking the Loop icon on the top left of the screen next to the home button.

When turned on, the playback will immediately restart once it reaches the end of the composition, or if you have an active selection region, the end of the selection.

The metronome (experimental)

Turn on the metronome on the top right corner to enable it. Play the composition to hear the beats. Note that it also responds to speed scalars, so each beat is not necessarily uniform in duration.

The Record tool has its own metronome control which you can see on the right hand side of the dock when the record tool is active.
