Bars and sections

Bars

Bars are automatically managed, which means if you run out of bars to cover the music, new bars will be appended to the end of the composition until all notes are contained in bars.

You can change a bar’s time signature in its properties panel when you select it. If new bars are added later immediately after this bar, the same time signature will be used.

Each bar’s bar number automatically increments from the previous bar, but you can alter the bar number for any bar which can be useful for situations such as repeats.

If you have many redundant empty bars, you can quickly delete them all by opening the Command palettePand select “Delete all empty bars”.

Sections

Sections mark out sections in the composition, which is useful for longer compositions. To add a new section, right click on the bar that the section should start, and select “Start new section from bar X”. It will cover the whole segment of music from that bar till either the end of the composition of the beginning of the next section. Click on the title of the section to select it and configure more options.

Bar numbers will start from 1 for a new section.

Deleting a section will not delete its contents.
